Statement of Cash Flows
GAAP-based cash flow reporting can be somewhat complex, as significant and unusual business transactions may occur between the close of one accounting period and the next. The statement of cash flows designed for eTEK provides you with the ability to easily and quickly enter significant transactions that would not normally or routinely be generated automatically for you when you close a period and run your final balance sheet and operating statement. You will need to make sure at the close of each period, before running your statement of cash flows, that you have correctly entered any transactions that could affect the net increase or decrease in cash & cash equivalents. Saying the obvious, the system only knows what you tell it for any and all transactions that do not flow automatically from your general ledger, balance sheet and income statement - after you initially set-up various default G/L cash accounts in your organization profile under the System Utilities Module.
Please note that in each screen used for setting up your statement of cash flows report, the grayed-out fields tell you that the data in this field is calculated automatically elsewhere in your system and/or through the calculations required to arrive at your net increase or decrease in cash and cash equivalents. Fields that are white are data entry fields in which you are expected to enter either zero or the correct value.
Specific instructions are organized by tab and field as follows:
"Ribbon" Field Instruction/Explanation

This tab is also where you print your report.
