Setting Up Account Control Specifications

These account number ranges will be used for total and subtotal requirements when printing financial statements.  
Examples of common control specification divisions are Current Assets, Fixed Assets, Other Assets, Current Liabilities, Long-Term Liabilities, Equity, Revenue, Cost of Sales, General and Administrative Expenses, Other Income and Other Expenses.
To add or edit information to the account control specifications, complete the following procedures:
1. Select the Data Entry tab, System Utilities Module and double-click on the Module step Add/Edit Account Control Specifications.
2. The G/L Control form will be displayed.
3. Add or edit the information for each line of the control table.  
4. This information may be sent directly to the printer by pressing the [Print] button or it may be viewed or exported to Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel by pressing the [Print Preview] command button from the toolbar.
5. Press the [Close Window] button from the toolbar to save the changes and return to the Main Module.
Note:  Editing information in the Account Control Specifications is not recommended after the general ledger chart of accounts has been completed.  Information on this form will affect the Account Header Names, Company Profile Records and Account Information.
